Second 'Flysafe Giveaway Extravaganza' Winner Announced

Avidyne Launches A Third Annual Contest For 2012

After hearing he was the grand prize winner in Avidyne's "FlySafe Giveaway Extravaganza", Piper Archer owner Stephen Gansky of Newtown, PA's comment was one heard often from contest winners: “I can’t believe it! I never win anything, this is great.”

What he'd won was a new IFD540 GPS/NAV/COM, which will be delivered as soon as the unit receives its FAA certification. Avidyne places the value of the prize at $16,995.

Mr. Gansky got word he was the winner in a telephone call from Avidyne. He was randomly chosen from all the Extravaganza contest entrants acquired at trade shows and via the Avidyne website since August 2011. “I was very impressed with the IFD540 when I saw it in Hartford last fall. It will certainly fit nicely in my panel where my 530 is today.”

“Congratulations to Steve and thanks to everyone who participated in our FlySafe Giveaway Extravaganza,” said Patrick Herguth, Avidyne’s Chief Operating Officer.  “This promotion has continued to help us spread the word about the IFD540 and our other panel-mounted avionics, as well as allowing us to connect with more aircraft owners who may be interested in the exciting products we are developing.”

Targeted specifically toward aircraft owners, this is the second FlySafe Giveaway Extravaganza promotion by Avidyne.  The first was launched in April at Sun n’ Fun 2011, with the initial grand prize of a TAS620A traffic system that was given away right after Oshkosh 2011.  The Extravaganza 2 promotion was launched shortly thereafter, with the winner being selected from the entries submitted via the Avidyne website and from domestic and international trade shows between August and December 2011.

“These FlySafe Giveaway Extravaganza promotions have been very successful from our point of view, and so have decided to move forward with another one, which runs now through Oshkosh 2012.” Herguth added.

Aircraft owners can view contest rules and sign up for Avidyne’s “Extravaganza 3” giveaway, which will also have a new Avidyne IFD540 GPS/NAV/COM as the Grand Prize.  The winner will be select from all of the valid entries gathered at first-half 2012 trade shows, or from online registrations.
