Aero-TV: Politics At NBAA 2012 -- Forbes' Rich Karlgaard

Expert Observations On The Fortunes and Misfortunes of The BizAv Community

In addition to being the Publisher of one of the iconic business publications in the world, Rich Karlgaard is "one of us." He is a pilot, an aircraft owner and a user of General Aviation.

His bio states that in addition to being the Publisher of Forbes magazine that is his "Digital Rules" column, Rich writes about technology, entrepreneurship, regional economic development, and the future of business and work. He also lectures on these subjects and is a regular participant on the Fox News Channel's Forbes on Fox.

An instrument-rated pilot, Rich has been a solid advocate for the use of GA and BizAv as well as a solid spokesperson for those who use airplanes to get business done. Rich was part of an extensive line-up of speakers on the opening day of NBAA2012. While the FAA Administrator turned out to be a no-show, other speakers included John Mica, U.S. House Representative from Florida; and Bill Crutchfield, CEO of Crutchfield Corporation, a leading electronics company. In addition, NBAA's annual Al Ueltschi Humanitarian Award was presented to FedEx and its chairman, president and chief executive officer Frederick W. Smith in recognition of the company's work with ORBIS International, a nonprofit global development organization dedicated to saving sight worldwide.
