Eduardo Tricio Haro Stepping Down, Javier Arrigunaga Gómez del Campo Named As Replacement
Eduardo Tricio Haro has conveyed to the Board of Directors and the Shareholders Meeting of the Company, his decision to step down as Chairman of the Board, while continuing as a Non Executive Director of Grupo Aeromexico's Board.
At the meeting Tuesday, both the Board of Directors and the Shareholders Meeting approved the appointment of Javier Arrigunaga Gómez del Campo as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company.
All Directors recognized extensively the successful performance and leadership of Mr. Tricio at the helm of the Company. They acknowledged that during his tenure the largest capital expenditure plan in the history of Mexican aviation was agreed with the purchase of up to 100 Boeing aircraft. Moreover, agreements were reached with the Unions, strengthening the relationship with the labor force and operating performance was enhanced, which have generated value for all stakeholders and led to a sustained increase in the stock price.
"I am very pleased with the appointment of Javier Arrigunaga as Chairman of the Board. I am sure that he will be a great support to the next stage of growth of our company," Tricio said. "On behalf of the Board and all our team, I welcome Javier."
"I am very enthusiastic to continue the outstanding performance of Eduardo Tricio and am looking forward to working with our team of professionals at Aeromexico," Arrigunaga said.
Javier Arrigunaga is a recognized executive with a long and distinguished career, both in the public and private sector, formerly Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Financiero Banamex and Chairman of the Mexican Banking Association. Before joining Banamex in 2002, Mr. Arrigunaga was the Mexican Ambassador to the OECD. Previously, he worked for 15 years at the Mexican Central Bank, where he fulfilled different responsibilities. Since 2007, Mr. Arrigunaga has been a member of Aeromexico's Board and member of the Executive Committee.
