Aspen Avionics Celebrates 1,000 Evolution Displays With New Contest

"Grand Glass Giveaway" Will Award EFD1000 To Lucky Winner At AOPA Expo 2008

To celebrate production of its 1,000th Evolution Flight Display system, Aspen Avionics will award an EFD1000 Pilot Primary Flight Display (PFD) during AOPA Expo in San Jose on Saturday, November 8, 2008.

Registered Expo attendees will be given one ticket each to be entered into the drawing by dropping it into the spinning bin located at Aspen’s booth #1438.

"We are excited to bring affordable, advanced display technologies to this segment of the market," said John Uczekaj, Aspen’s President and CEO. "It’s been only seven months since we began shipping the certified Evolution Flight Display. Aspen has worked hard to ramp up to the strong demand and enthusiasm from the pilot community and wanted to recognize that support by giving away our 1,000th Evolution PFD."

Uczekaj will join AOPA President Phil Boyer to randomly pick the winner at a drawing to be held at the close of AOPA Expo on Saturday. Aspen will then work with the lucky winner to expedite installation at one of Aspen's almost 400 dealers worldwide.

The Grand Glass Giveaway winner will be responsible for the cost of installation into an aircraft, and can upgrade the prize, if desired, to the Pro PFD by purchasing the Pilot to Pro PFD Upgrade Kit from the dealer. The winner does not have to be present to win.

"The Grand Glass Giveaway will give one lucky pilot the ability to realize the enhanced capabilities and safety the EFD1000 PFD brings to the general aviation cockpit," said Brad Hayden, Director of Marketing. "It is only fitting that we give away the 1,000th Evolution Flight Display at AOPA Expo, since our very first unit was delivered to AOPA for their Get Your Glass Sweepstakes airplane."

The Evolution Flight Display system was introduced at EAA AirVenture in 2007, and received FAA certification in March 2008. Aspen bills the EFD1000 as the first expandable glass cockpit system for GA aircraft.
