Swift Fuels LLC Reaches Deal With German Firm

Acquires 50 Percent Stake in German Company In Exchange For Intellectual Property, Aviation Fuels License

An American company that is developing a commercial replacement for leaded general aviation gasoline has announced the acquisition of a 50 percent stake in a German firm. The transaction allows Zweibrücken, Germany-based Swift Fuel GmbH to license the intellectual property and technical expertise, including 100SF aviation gasoline targeted for general aviation aircraft, from Indiana-based Swift Fuels LLC.

"We are helping Swift Fuel GmbH to be uniquely positioned in unleaded aviation fuels across Europe and to allow key investors to participate in this opportunity," said Chris D'Acosta, CEO of Swift Fuels.

D'Acosta said the business deal will allow Swift Fuel GmbH to develop and sell high-performance fuels, additives and specialty chemicals across Europe. "This is a major milestone in our efforts to broaden Swift Fuels' market coverage and deepen our technical base," he said. "I have the highest confidence and greatest respect for Thomas Albuzat and Andreas Penner, who founded Swift Fuel GmbH."

Swift Fuels LLC is based in the Purdue Research Park of West Lafayette.
