Pink Slips On The Way To About 300 In Wire Harness
Here they come... the layoffs
predicted when Raytheon moved its wire harness division from
Wichita (KS) to Mexico. The Wichita Eagle reports about 75 workers
will get pink slips next month.
The company says it's given notice to the workers that their
last day on the job will be November 19th. Spokesman Tim Travis
told the Eagle that the company is trying to ease the pain by
opening up a sheet metal training class. He said the company hopes
some of the workers will cross over to become sheet metal
The 75 who will lose their jobs next month are the first wave of
as many as 300 workers who'll get notices by the middle of next
year, Travis said.
