Sportsman Kits Are Available Again

Glasair Aviation has resumed operations after a “COVID pause”, and will now resume selling kits. Updates include the Sportsman kits, which have now reduced the builder’s assembly time, with the Two Weeks to Taxi program still on hold. Small changes have been made regarding the clean up instructions, updated bill of materials, prefabricating assemblies and other improvements, according to Coby Young, Glasair’s Final Assembly Manager. The kit now includes many parts and assemblies that have been historically sold separately as sub-kits.

Transaction To Close End Of Q3, 2022

Parker Hannifin Corporation confirms that Meggitt Shareholders have approved the terms of the recommended cash acquisition of the entire issued and to be issued ordinary share capital of Meggitt PLC as announced on August 2, 2021. The transaction is expected to close in Q3 of 2022. Meggitt PLC has issued a report announcing the voting results. The acquisition remains subject to satisfaction of the conditions set out in the scheme document, including regulatory clearances. Under the UK Companies Act, the Scheme of Arrangement further requires the sanction of the Court, currently Q3 of 2022.

The FAA has awarded more than $431.8 million in grants to build safer, more sustainable and more accessible airports across the United States. The Companies Will Work Together To Bring New Forms Of Air Travel To Market

Air New Zealand and Airbus have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work together on a study to explore the potential for hydrogen-powered aircraft operations. Following the terms of  the agreement, Air New Zealand will examine the reactions hydrogen-powered aircraft may have on its network, operations and infrastructure. Meanwhile, Airbus will share expected aircraft  performance and ground operations characteristics to support Air New Zealand in its decarbonisation roadmap.

The Pilot Began A Slow Climb, When The Engine Began To Surge

On August 24, 2021, about 1200 Pacific daylight time, a Piper PA-32-300 airplane, N2843T, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Del Mar, California. The flight instructor and private pilot were not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The pilot reported that the airplane had just completed an annual inspection and he was flying it back to its home base. A departure on runway heading to a level off about 1,500 ft mean sea level (msl) was accomplished. Once past the class B airspace floor of 1,800 ft msl, the pilot began a slow climb, when the engine began to surge.
