Greg Colyer's 'Acemaker' T-33 Banged Up In Landing Accident

No Injuries, But The Bird Got A Little Bent...

Greg Colyer is known as a guy that has edxpertly brought the earliest generation of military jets to the attention and delight of airshow audiences all over the country. Flying his 'Acemaker' T-33 (T33-452) N133HH, on Tuesday, he apparently encountered some squirrelly conditions on landing and wound up with a hard landing and a collapsed Right Main Gear. The accident took place at Wyoming's Cheyenne Regional Airport (KCYS). The damage to the Canadair CT-133 Silver Star 3 has been listed as "substantial.' 'Never Won Anything Before In His Life!'

Some guys have all the luck... even if they only have it all just once... for something REALLY big -- like a P-51 Mustang ride. George Kouba didn’t see the phone call that he had won the raffle for “A Flight of a Lifetime!” on the Stallion 51’s P-51 Mustang until 6:00 pm. “I thought 2020 would be total wash-out, and then this!” said George. “To get ‘stick-time’ on a P-51, well, my wife is extremely jealous!” Every other year, Stallion 51 and Mercy Flight Southeast team up to raffle off the half-day experience culminating with the dreamed-of flight in the iconic plane. Nav Canada Tightens Its Belt

Workforce Reductions Instituted... 'Looks To Streamline Operations'

Nav Canada, Canada's much-discussed privatized ATC company, has disclosed that it has 'made the difficult decision to eliminate permanent jobs as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to have a significant negative impact on global air traffic and on the aviation industry.' The company is also taking steps to safely streamline operations and will be launching level of service reviews for certain aerodromes. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company reports that it had 5,100 employees nationwide. Including the previous reduction in staffing of temporary employees in the spring and early retirements, the company had reduced more than 720 jobs or 14 per cent of the workforce.

NTSB Prelim: McSwain JA 30

During The Initial Climb, He Noted That The Airplane Was Not Climbing

On August 15, 2020, about 1600 eastern daylight time, a McSwain PA30 Superstol, N146BB, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident at a private airstrip near Clover, South Carolina. The pilot sustained minor injuries. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The pilot reported that he landed at a private, grass airstrip during the flight from York Airport (01SC), York, South Carolina to Gastonia Municipal Airport (AKH), Gastonia, North Carolina. He landed uneventfully and taxied for a takeoff to the northwest. During the initial climb, he noted that the airplane was not climbing as he expected.

The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2000-22-19 for Eurocopter France (now Airbus Helicopters) Model SA330F, G, and J helicopters. AD 2000-22-19 required repetitively inspecting certain tail rotor (T/R) blades for skin debonding and a crack. Since the FAA issued AD 2000-22-19, the inspection procedures have been revised.
