Delair Offers Subscription Program For UX11 Drone Family

Users Can Also Access The Delair.ai Software Platform

Commercial drone solution provider Delair has announced "Delair Takeoff", a cost-effective subscription program for accessing the company’s high performance Delair UX11 family of UAVs and its delair.ai, cloud-based data management solution. Customers can pay a fixed monthly fee and have unlimited use of the long-range, fully equipped drone. A six-month minimum contract is required, and the plan is currently only available to customers in Europe.

FAA Issues Update On Unleaded Avgas Replacement

Four Fuels Under Evaluation During The First Half Of This Year

The FAA is continuing to work on a drop-in replacement for 100LL avgas through the Piston Aviation Fuels Initiative (PAFI). Through the first half of this year, the FAA has conducted testing at the William J. Hughes Technical Center of an optimized Shell fuel, and screening testing of 3 fuels not previously part of the PAFI program. The scope of PAFI has continued to evolve with the preliminary evaluation of 3 other fuels representing PAFI's commitment to research and evaluate all candidate unleaded fuels. Test results with the optimized Shell fuel were not successful with testing indicating additional refinements are required.

NTSB Releases Preliminary Report From Hawaii Skydiving Plane Accident

The NTSB has released its preliminary report from an accident which occurred June 21 at Dillingham Airfield (HDH), Mokuleia, Hawaii. The commercial pilot and ten passengers sustained fatal injuries, and the airplane was destroyed. The Beech Queen Air, which was owned by N80896 LLC and was being operated by Oahu Parachute Center (OPC), collided with terrain after takeoff from HDH.

Following tests completed by Northeast UAS Airspace Integration Research (NUAIR) at the New York UAS Test Site in Rome, New York, Israel-based drone company Flytrex, has had the parachute on its package delivery drones validated as compliant with industry standards. This is the second parachute standard validation performed by NUAIR. Currently, the FAA prohibits most drones from being flown directly over people. Professional drone operators can apply for a waiver from that restriction if they can demonstrate they have robust safety
