AMA Drone Report 09.06.18: Politics v STEM, Airspace Integration, Cops Seize UAV

Also: Drone Rescue, DJI Matrice 200, Spokane Valley Parks v Drones, Uber Eats Eyes Drone Delivery

New Generation Solar Cell Empowers Autonomy For BVLOS UAV Operations

Technology Developed By Alta Devices Unveiled At InterDrone Conference In Las Vegas

UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles), or drones, are among the earliest autonomous vehicles – performing many functions without human intervention. The next challenge for UAVs is the coming adoption of BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) regulations. The adoption of these rules liberates drones, but also places new demands on them; they need to be able to fly for extended periods and have the right instrumentation for many newly practical applications, such as precision agriculture, mapping, railroad inspection, and search and rescue. Therefore, these aircraft require sufficient power to enable long-distance flight.

Why Does Half The World's Population Only Comprise 4%-6% Of The Aviation/Aerospace World?

As you may have noticed, the ANN crew has had their 'thinking caps' on, 24/7. The result is a lot of good ideas... and the courage to pursue them. And that's been our hallmark for nearly 23 years... when we created the FIRST 24/7/365 online news network, and a whole host of additional capabilities, some 360,000+ stories ago. Over time; we recognized that we had to try a lot of new concepts to find the few that would truly rocket themselves to the top of our priority list, and we've learned to develop a solid sense as to what has the most serious potential -- and we have one of those now -- one that truly excites us as to the profound effect it
