NTSB Issues Probable Cause Report In Bedford, MA G-IV Accident

Faults Flight Crew, Gulfstream, FAA

The probable cause of the crash of a business jet in a Boston suburb last May was a series of errors by an experienced flight crew, the National Transportation Safety Board said at a public meeting today. Specifically, the pilots failed to perform a flight control check before takeoff then attempted to take off while critical flight controls were locked because a gust lock was engaged. Finally, they delayed rejecting the take-off after they became aware the flight controls were locked.

Airbus’ first A330neo is coming to life one year after the program was launched, with the first 'cutting of metal' underway at its production facilities in Toulouse and Nantes. Releases Approved Weight And Balance Manual (WBM) Supplements For Certain Boeing Aircraft (B-747, B-767, B-777)

The FAA has issued an Information for Operators (InFO) advising certificate holders of B-747, B-767, and B-777 aircraft that the Boeing WBMs have been modified for certain cargo aircraft operations. This modification provides a new method for restraining cargo directly to a certified pallet (without the use of the corresponding certified cargo net) by attaching straps directly to the pallet. This restraint methodology is classified as Special Cargo.
