Airborne at NBAA--10.22.14: Legacy 500 Cert, Universal's InSight, BendixKing AeroWave

The FAA handed over certification papers for Embraer's Legacy 500 executive jet during a ceremony at the National Business Aviation Association Conference and Exhibition, in Orlando, Florida. This approval enables entry into service of the aircraft in the United States and in countries that require such certification. Syberjet is looking ahead to getting the SJ-30i into production. NTSB: Pilot Error Probable Cause In Thomson, GA Bizjet Accident

Report Indicates Pilot Failed To Follow Landing Procedures

The National Transportation Safety Board has determined that the pilot in a 2013 business airplane accident in Thomson, Georgia, failed to adhere to the airplane’s flight manual procedures for antiskid failure in flight and did not retract the lift dump -- a critical system to assist in stopping the aircraft -- immediately after making the decision to perform a go-around.
