Company Says A New Electronic Bleed Air System (EBAS) Improves Efficiency, Reliability

Honeywell has been selected to provide several vital aircraft subsystems for the new 737 MAX. The airplane will come equipped with the latest Honeywell Electronic Bleed Air System (EBAS), in addition to other existing Honeywell 737 systems that the company says will lower the cost of ownership for operators, while increasing reliability, efficiency and comfort.

Both Aircraft Are Now Equipped To Participate In Live, Virtual And Constructive Training Simulations

Two military aircraft produced by Boeing ... the F-15E Eagle and the F/A-18E Super Hornet ... now are equipped to train in an environment that puts them at odds against real aircraft and computer-generated enemy threats at the same time. Under a $6.3 million, three-year contract with the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory, Boeing is developing these simulation capabilities for both the U.S. Air Force F-15E and the U.S. Navy F/A-18E/F.

Construction Will Begin Soon On AAMF In Prince Georges County, VA

Rolls-Royce is set to begin construction on a new advanced manufacturing facility at Rolls-Royce Crosspointe in Prince George County, Virginia. The Group is investing $136 million to develop an Advanced Airfoil Machining Facility (AAMF), which will create 140 new, highly skilled jobs. The new AAMF will be located alongside the company’s Rotatives manufacturing facility on the 1,000-acre Crosspointe campus, located just south of the state capital, Richmond.

As the U.S. government prepares for unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in the National Airspace System by 2015, the U.S. Air Force and Raytheon Company have conducted concept evaluation demonstrations that show existing air traffic control equipment could be modified to safely track the presence of nearby unmanned aircraft.

CAAC Approval Received In September, Government Certification Pending

NetJets China has established its operational headquarters in the Zhuhai Aviation Industrial Park. Subject to obtaining relevant regulatory approvals, NetJets China Business Aviation Limited will manage all flight and maintenance operations from the new Zhuhai facility. Like so many, we had lost contact over the years with some close friends that we had made during our combat tours in Vietnam. Therefore, with a couple of phone calls, we began locating people. One thing led to another, and the next thing we knew we were having a reunion in Las Vegas in 1988. Approximately 200 people, representing all of the helicopter types that we flew, attended for a long weekend of fun. It was such a success that we began publishing a directory and a newsletter.
