Shumer Blasts Spirit Airlines For Carry-On Fees

Asks Treasury Department To Ban Such Fees

New York Senator Charles Shumer (D) said over the weekend that Spirit Airline's decision to charge passengers for carry-on bags is "a slap in the face to travelers," and he wants the Treasury Department to exempt luggage carried onto an airliner from additional fees.

Banner-Tow Plane Grounded In Augusta

The Airplane Had Pulled Banners Referring To Tiger Woods

The FAA grounded an airplane which had towed a banner near the Augusta National golf course during an early round of The Masters tournament last week. One banner read "Tiger: Did you mean Bootyism?" Another said "Sex addict? Sure, me too." Four other messages were waiting to be displayed.

First Air Force Accident With Fatalities For The Tilt-Rotor Aircraft

An Air Force CV-22 Osprey went down in Afghanistan on Thursday, killing three military crewmen and a civilian contractor. Several others were injured It was the first such fatal accident involving the aircraft since it became operational with the Air Force in 2006.

This tax policy forces aircraft operators out of Florida and drives aviation related services such as maintenance, repair, and overhaul to other states."
