ANN Featured 'Aero-Casts': FAA Administrator Blakey, 'Meet The Boss' At OSH '05

Listen As Blakey Talks About LSA, ADIZs, And TFRs

As many of you already know, this year's EAA AirVenture at Oshkosh saw the introduction of an exciting new feature here at ANN -- podcasting, or as we call it... "Aero-Casting."

This new form of media allows all of us at ANN to give our readers the unique experience of both reading the news on our site, as well as listening to the actual people and events that are making the news. It is no secret that we plan on utilizing this exciting technology a WHOLE lot more in the future. As a matter of fact... you'll be HEARING a lot from us... quite soon. ANN has made an aggressive commitment to this medium and will be announcing our intentions shortly.

(Besides, Senior Editor Pete Combs REALLY likes doing them, as it gives his fans outside the Carolinas the opportunity to hear what he sounds like. He really does have the perfect face -- I mean voice -- for radio.)

We'll be featuring several of the podcasts already in our library over the next few weeks. This time, we'd like to give you the chance to review the first three parts of FAA Administrator Marion Blakey's presentation at Oshkosh.

Blakey gave what could be called a relaxed talk at Oshkosh, and it is clear that she enjoys spending time with those in the aviation and pilot communities.

She did, however, touch on several areas that she sees as problems with general aviation's handling of security issues, especially ADIZ and TFR violations that have been ever present in the news this year. Is her criticism justified, or do you agree with her comments? Listen, and decide!

Parts 4-7 of Blakey's speech will be featured at a later date... or you can check out her entire presentation now, as well as all of our podcasts, by either clicking on the links below, or on the Podcast icon at the upper right corner of our Top News page.

Oshkosh Blakey, Part Two

Oshkosh Blakey, Part Three

Once there, you can select one of several aviation-related topics, to listen to podcasts specific to those fields --  including General Aviation, Light Sport, Aerospace, and MANY others. (NOTE: All of Blakey's "Meet The Boss" presentation can be found under General Aviation section of our Aero-Casting Directories)

And remember -- If it's IN the air, we've got it ON the air!
