AD: Airbus SAS Airplanes

AD NUMBER: AD 2018-26-04

PRODUCT: Certain Airbus SAS Model A350-941 and -1041 airplanes.

ACTION: Final rule; request for comments.

SUMMARY: This AD was prompted by a report that due to an issue with the flight warning system (FWS) logic, it is possible that the “AIR Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) BLEED LEAK” electronic centralized aircraft monitoring (ECAM) alert can trigger several times.

This AD requires revising the airplane flight manual (AFM) to incorporate procedures related to an APU bleed leak.

DATES: This AD becomes effective January 14, 2019. Comments must be received by February 11, 2019.

COST: The FAA estimates that this AD affects 11 airplanes of U.S. registry.  Operators may incur the following costs in order to comply with this AD:

  • Labor: 1 work-hour × $85 per hour = $85 per airplane.
