Dolphin Aviation Has Been Awarding Academic Scholarships To Deserving Recipients For The Past 20 Years

For the 20th consecutive year, Dolphin Aviation's Ron Ciaravella presented the Dolphin Aviation Scholarship Awards to Sarasota-area high school graduates to support their first year of college. "For 20 years we've helped young scholars pursue their academic goals and for two decades they've given me back hope in our collective future," said Dolphin Aviation Owner Ron Ciaravella in an in-person award ceremony. SAF Orders Three H145s For EMS Missions In France

French Company Already Operates 55 Airbus Helicopters

SAF Group will be operating three more five-bladed H145s for emergency medical services (EMS) in France. These three aircraft will be based in Grenoble, Valence, and Montpellier. They will complement the three H145s already ordered by SAF in 2018 and 2020, the first of which was delivered recently and will be deployed for EMS missions in Belgium. SAF CEO Tristan Serretta says: “Introducing six new H145s in France and Belgium in just twelve months is in line with our strategy to increase the capacity of the growing number of EMS services that place their trust in us..."

NTSB Prelim: Pipistrel Alpha Trainer

When He Added Power, The Engine Did Not Respond

On May 28, 2021, about 1030 mountain daylight time, a Pipistrel Alpha Trainer, N119JP, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Fort Collins, Colorado. The pilot sustained minor injuries and the flight instructor sustained serious injuries. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 instructional flight. The flight instructor reported that they took off and proceeded to the practice area. They conducted flight review maneuvers, emergency procedures, and the flight instructor demonstrated a power on stall. The pilot took over the controls and when he added power, the engine did not respond.

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited Model DHC-8-400 series airplanes. This AD was prompted by a report that a number of nacelle A-frames were not manufactured in accordance with engineering drawings. This AD requires, depending on airplane configuration, removing the fasteners on the nacelle A-frame side brace sub-assemblies, doing an eddy current inspection for cracking, cold-working the holes, installing oversize fasteners, re-identifying the reworked side brace fitting and A-frame, and repair if necessary. AD 2021-12-03 Prompted By A Report Of The Bubble Window Departing From The Helicopter

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Leonardo S.p.a. Model AW189 helicopters. This AD was prompted by a report of the bubble window departing from the helicopter during flight. This AD requires installation of a new improved bubble window kit, as specified in a European Aviation Safety Agency (now the European Union Aviation Safety Agency) (EASA) AD, which is incorporated by reference. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. This AD becomes effective July 1, 2021.

However, there is a direct correlation between the degree of turbulence and other weather features associated with thunderstorms and the weather radar precipitation intensity.
