One of our favorite taildraggers, the Aviat Husky, just got a makeover... Upgrades include the addition of a new trim system, replacing the previous bungee system. The elevator trim tab that reduces trim workload and system pressures and also increases control stick feedback. An extended landing gear option makes the aircraft more stable for landing on terrain or slopes and adds propeller clearance by extending the gear four inches, moving the tires forward two inches and making the gear 12 inches wider... The U.S. Air Force Life Cycle Management Center has awarded an $81 million Foreign Military Sales contract to General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) for the United Kingdom (UK) MQ-9B Protector unmanned aircraft system program. This contract provides for integration and component level testing for UK specific enhancements to support the MQ-9B Protector program. GA-ASI performed the first flight of the MQ-9B configuration less than two years ago, and the Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) has continued to meet a series of key qualification milestones.
