Flight School Allegedly Failed To Complete Required Staff
The FAA say it plans to assess a $221,650 civil penalty against
Flying Vikings, Inc. a flight school in Hayward, CA, for allegedly
failing to complete the required training for its staff and failing
to maintain training records, as required by FARs.
Catastrophic Failure Had "Nothing To Do" With Airline
The CEO of Qantas Airways said in an interview Saturday that
Rolls-Royce was to blame for the catastrophic failure of a Trent
900 engine on a Qantas A380 which caused the airline to ground its
fleet of six of the superjumbos.

All Nippon Airways (ANA) CEO Shinichiro Ito said Monday that his
airline is "pushing" Boeing for a new delivery schedule for its
long-delayed 787 Dreamliner. The aircraft suffered another delay in
November when a fire in an electrical panel forced a halt to flight
testing of the aircraft.
L-3 Link Simulation & Training Awarded $24.1 Million
The U.S. Navy has awarded a $24.1 million contract to L-3's Link
Simulation & Training division to provide the Kuwait Air Force
(KAF) with two F/A-18C Tactical Operational Flight Trainers (TOFTs)
and associated training equipment.
Airline Has Six A350 XWB Aircraft On Order As Well
Hawaiian Airlines, which became a new Airbus operator this year,
has placed a firm order for an additional six A330-200s. These
long-haul, twin-engine, widebody aircraft will join
Hawaiian’s fleet of three A330s and an existing backlog of
another seven A330-200s and six A350 XWBs.

A TSA security employee who has been charged with the abduction
and sexual assault of a woman in Atlanta had previously been
convicted of misdemeanor harassment and stalking. He had been

Diamond Aircraft CEO Christian Dries announced
that Dr. Gerd Berchtold has joined the Diamond Group as part of an
internal company reorganization to better position the company for
the future. Dr. Berchtold will assume the position of CEO of
Diamond Aircraft GmbH, Austria, responsible for design, production
and customer support. He will report directly to the shareholder,
Mr. Christian Dries.

search for the flight data and cockpit voice recorders from Air
France flight 447, which went down in the Atlantic Ocean June 1,
2009. Officials say they will begin the fourth phase of the
search in February of next year.
