DC Aviation Receives Milestone Aircraft

Embraer delivered the 150th Legacy 600 jet it has produced to the German operator DC Aviation. This is the seventh Legacy 600 in the customer’s fleet, and it will be used for charter flights in the Europe and Middle East regions.

But Adds Accidents Increased Among Outside Operators

The European Aviation Safety Agency said Tuesday that 2007 was a good year overall for aviation safety in Europe... but adds that challenges still remain, lest anyone feel complacent.

Dismisses "Contradictory" Statements

A senior Defense Department spokesman dismissed Iranian-sourced reports that a US military aircraft had been forced down in Iran. The Iranian reports he has reviewed contradict themselves, Pentagon spokesman Bryan Whitman told reporters Tuesday.

Order Valued At Approximately $299M US

Bombardier Aerospace announced Tuesday that Brit Air in Morlaix, France, has signed a contract to acquire six additional Bombardier CRJ1000 NextGen jetliners. The transaction involves the conversion of six options taken with Brit Air's original order for eight CRJ1000 NextGen aircraft. That order was announced on February 19, 2007.

Below is the unedited transcript of the National Transportation Safety Board's preliminary report on the September 19 takeoff downing of a chartered Lear 60 at Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) in South Carolina. As ANN reported, the accident claimed the lives of both pilots and two passengers onboard; two others were able to escape with severe burns.

Business flight... with a "conscience." That's the marketing pitch behind so-called "carbon offset" programs now bandied by umpteen airlines and private jet ownership companies. FlexJet announced Monday at NBAA it will be the latest to jump on the green bandwagon, signing with offset provider Climate Care to sell offset credits to the fractional's customers.
