Adventure Pilot has announced the release of iFly EFB 12.2, an update by which the aviation community may avail itself of advanced EFB features, to include integration with Avidyne's advanced flight displays. iFly EFB 12.2 integrates with Avidyne's advanced Integrated Flight Display (IFD) systems, thereby bringing higher degrees of collaboration and efficiency to users’ flight-planning endeavors. West Virginia’s state legislature has approved a $25-million budget allocation for the construction of an aviation maintenance training facility at the Mountain State’s North Central West Virginia Airport (CKB). The proposed 70,000-square-foot structure will facilitate increased enrollment in nearby Pierpont Community and Technical College’s aviation tech program. The college aspires to see the aforementioned program grow from its current roster of 130 students to upwards of two-hundred enrollees.

Archer Makes a Trio of Major Announcements

Archer Aviation, the California-based designer of electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft, has secured a $215-million equity investment from Stellantis—an American-Italian-French multinational automotive manufacturing corporation—Boeing, United Airlines, and a number of financial institutions including ARK Invest. NTSB Prelim: A Van Nierop Risen 915 iS

Witness Watched It Remain “Low And Slow” Until He Observed A “Wing Drop” And The Airplane Enter A “Flat Spin”

  On July 28, 2023, about 1410 mountain daylight time, an experimental amateur-built Risen 915 iS, N2442, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Glendive, Montana. The pilot was fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. A witness located at the airport reported that they observed the airplane depart runway 12, at the Dawson Community Airport (GDV), Glendive. The airplane appeared not to climb fast, however, the engine sounded like it was at full power.
