Talk about an optimistic outlook at a critical moment... With demand rebounding for international air travel following ongoing recovery in many domestic markets, Boeing is now projecting demand for more than 41,000 new airplanes through 2041, underscoring aviation industry resilience two years after the pandemic began. Boeing released its 2022 Commercial Market Outlook (CMO), the company's annual long-term forecast, in advance of the Farnborough International Airshow.

Virgin Galactic—the California-based spaceflight subsidiary of archetypal billionaire cool guy Richard Branson’s Virgin Group—has announced the signing of a long-term lease for a new final-assembly manufacturing facility for its next-generation Delta class spaceships. The new structure—already under construction and slated to be fully-operational by late 2023—will be located in Mesa, Arizona, adjacent the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport. When complete, the facility will have a yearly production capacity of six spacecraft—an ambitious objective that will bring hundreds of high-paying, aerospace engineering and manufacturing jobs to the Phoenix/Mesa area.

NTSB Prelim: Piper PA-32-300

The Airplane Impacted Trees And Terrain About 0.40 Miles From The Runway 17 Arrival Threshold

On July 3, 2022, at 2244 central daylight time, a Piper PA-32-300 airplane, N1403X, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Mt. Pleasant, Texas. The pilot and two passengers were seriously injured. The pilot-rated passenger was fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight.Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) data revealed that the flight departed from the Memorial Field Airport (HOT), Hot Springs, Arkansas, about 2145, and proceeded direct to the Mt. Pleasant Regional Airport (OSA), Mt. Pleasant, Texas.

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain GE Aviation Czech s.r.o. (GEAC) M601D-11, M601E-11, M601E-11A, M601E-11AS, M601E-11S, and M601F model turboprop engines. This AD was prompted by the absence of life limits for propeller shaft part number (P/N) M601-6081.6 in the airworthiness limitations section (ALS) of the applicable GEAC M601 Engine Shop Manual. This AD was also prompted by a report that operators may not have been provided with enough data to determine the accumulated life of certain propeller shafts. AD 2022-14-07 Prompted By Reports That Some Oxygen Box Assemblies Had Their Piston Ejected During The Mask Deployment Test

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Bombardier, Inc., Model BD-700-1A10 and BD-700-1A11 airplanes. This AD was prompted by reports that some oxygen box assemblies had their piston ejected during the mask deployment test. This AD requires a one-time inspection of each passenger oxygen box dual manifold assembly to find and replace affected parts. This AD also prohibits installing affected parts. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. This AD is effective August 19, 2022.
