Sixteen Instructors Recognized With The Prestigious Designation
Sixteen flight instructors with FlightSafety International recently received the prestigious gold seal instructor certificate from the FAA.
“All of us with FlightSafety join in congratulating the 16 Teammates who recently received the FAA’s gold seal instructor certificate,” said David Davenport, Executive Vice President. “This well-deserved recognition demonstrates their commitment to excellence, and ability to deliver the highest quality training. We thank all FlightSafety instructors for consistently going above and beyond to provide our Customers with the outstanding service they deserve and expect.”
Gold seal instructor certificates are awarded to instructors who have high personal qualifications and good records as active flight instructors. To qualify they must hold a flight instructor certificate and a commercial pilot certificate with an instrument rating or an ATP certificate with instrument privileges. They may also hold a ground instructor certificate with an advanced or instrument ground instructor rating.
In addition, the instructor must have accomplished one of the following within the past 24 months:
- Trained and recommended at least 10 applicants for certificates or ratings. At least 80 percent must have passed the flight test on their first attempt.
- Conducted at least 20 practical tests as a designated pilot examiner or 20 graduation tests as chief flight instructor for an approved pilot school course.
- A combination of the requirements above.
Conducting two practical tests equals the credit given for training and recommending one applicant for a practical test.
“All of FlightSafety’s more than 1,800 instructors meet our stringent criteria for experience, instructional expertise, high quality course delivery, and service,” added David Davenport. “FlightSafety’s instructors are dedicated to enhancing safety and help to ensure our Customers achieve proficiency, and are prepared to react correctly and safely in routine and unforeseen circumstances.”
