Evektor SportStar RTC Gains EASA Type Certification

LSA Is Based On Previously Certified Airplane

EASA has granted CS-LSA type certification to Evektor for its SportStar RTC, making the sport airplane one of the first to be certified under EASA's latest regulations.

In a news release, Evektor said that the certification is "great news for flight schools, aeroclubs and also private pilots, as the SportStar RTC is raising bar of flight training and cross-country flying to a new level. Modern design, robust metal construction, flight schools proven reliability operating costs about half that of a comparable trainer make the SportStar RTC true choice for PPL / JAR-FCL training," the company said.

The SportStar RTC was certified as a derivative of the Evektor´s EASA JAR-VLA certified training aircraft Harmony VLA and reflects the latest development in flight school training, safety and travel comfort. The SportStar was the first aircraft in the world type approved by FAA in the U.S. S-LSA category in 2005, and has become one of the best selling two seat aircraft for basic flight training in the USA, Australia and other countries.

"We are pleased that ... European flight schools and private pilots can benefit from the SportStar qualities, low operation costs and extended operation possibilities," said Peter Javorsky, Managing director of Evektor-Aerotechnik. EASA Type certificate enables Evektor to deliver the first SportStar RTC´s to customers in Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Turkey.

Evektor-Aerotechnik is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of light sport aircraft, advanced UL and PPL training airplanes, with over 40 years experience in aircraft manufacturing, EASA certified production and sales network in 40+ countries all around the world. Fleet of over 1100 Evektor aircraft has been already delivered worldwide. The latest Evektor project is twin engine turboprop for transportation of 9 - 14 passengers / cargo – the EV-55 Outback.
