Will Be Honored For Their Work Supporting Business Aviation

The European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) and the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) announced Monday that city officials in Geneva and FlightSafety International will be recognized with the EBACE2006 European Business Aviation Award for their work on behalf of business aviation.

Managing Director for Geneva, Palexpo Claude Membrez, will accept an award on behalf of Geneva State Councillor for the Departement de la solidarite et de l'emploi (DSE) Francois Longchamp, and other local leaders. Geneva will be recognized for the tremendous support that local officials have shown for EBACE, which has been located in Geneva throughout the six-year history of the event.

"Officials from Geneva Palexpo and Geneva International Airport have done a terrific job of welcoming EBACE to Geneva each year," said EBAA CEO Brian Humphries. "The business aviation community deeply appreciates the many efforts made to accommodate EBACE, and it gives me great pleasure to recognize the exceptional support for our industry that has been demonstrated by the people of Geneva."

FlightSafety International President & CEO Bruce Whitman (right) will also receive an award on behalf of his organization. FlightSafety will be recognized for establishing training facilities to support the safety of flight at Farnborough Airport in London, England, and Le Bourget Airport near Paris, France -- two airports dedicated to serving general aviation aircraft, including those used for business purposes.

"FlightSafety International's facilities at LeBourget and Farnborough are outstanding," said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. "The organization's commitment to supporting operational safety for business aviation in Europe is underscored with the presence of these training centers. I commend FlightSafety International for its continuing dedication to the safety of our industry."

FlightSafety International is the world's largest provider of aviation services, training over 65,000 pilots annually at 42 training centers located around the world. The organization is dedicated to the principle that aviation safety is best achieved through training.

The award recipients will be honored for their achievements at this year's European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE2006), the only major European event focused solely on business aviation. EBACE2006 will be held May 3 through 5, 2006, at Geneva Palexpo Conference Center, located immediately adjacent to Geneva International Airport in Geneva, Switzerland.

The only European exhibition to focus exclusively on business aviation, EBACE is organized jointly by the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and European Business Aviation Association (EBAA).
