Daher has unveiled technical details for its TBM 940 very fast turboprop aircraft in the Model Year 2020 version, which is equipped with HomeSafe - an emergency system that automatically brings the airplane to a runway touchdown if the pilot becomes incapacitated. The system is activated manually by a prominent orange button atop the cockpit instrument panel. Its software integrates weather, traffic and terrain information to select the best airport for landing, taking into account fuel range and runway length. The pilot can override the autoland function at any time to resume normal flight conditions by simply disconnecting the autopilot. NASA Boss, Jim Bridenstine, has an unexpected message to space

Perseverance Remains Targeted for Summer Launch

Testing on NASA’s Mars Perseverance Rover At KSC Closed Out April

The latest activities at the Florida spaceport included attaching the aeroshell backshell on April 29 and attaching the rover to its rocket-powered descent stage on April 23 inside the Payload Hazardous Servicing Facility. The rover and descent stage were the first spacecraft components to come together for launch — and they will be the last to separate when the spacecraft reaches Mars on Feb. 18, 2021. The backshell carries the parachute and several components that will be used during later stages of entry, descent and landing. The aeroshell will encapsulate and protect Perseverance and its descent stage during their deep space journey to Mars and during descent through

EAA: Official FAA Notice Confirms Limited Coverage of COVID-19 SFAR

FAA Safety Team Confirms EAA's Disappointing Legal Interpretation

As EAA re;ated to ANN and others last week, the FAA did not deliver relief to personal and recreational aviation that the general aviation community sought and anticipated in a Special Federal Aviation Regulation (SFAR) addressing COVID-19’s impact on aviation, especially in the areas of expiring biennial flight reviews (BFR) and aircraft annual inspections. A notice from the FAA Safety Team confirms EAA's disappointing legal interpretation that extension of flight review expirations are contingent on meeting all of a set of demanding requirements for pilot experience and limitations on the kinds of eligible operations. EAA was dismayed to see considerable restrictions on who
