Repair Services Deal Worth A Reported $3.1 Million
The Eurofighter consortium has signed a five year contract with
IFS to maintain its IFS Applications-based system, which is
handling the Industrial Repair Service (IRS) for the Eurofighter

Enters Cooperative Joint Venture Agreement For Production In
China
Groen Brothers Aviation, based in Salt Lake City, is part
of the latest headline involving a Chinese investment in US
aviation. In a news release dated Saturday, a deal that had been
the subject of rumors in the gyroplane community was confirmed.
Groen Brothers has formed a wholly-owned subsidiary called Groen
Brothers Aviation International, LLC for the specific purpose of
entering a cooperative joint venture with China's Guangzhou
Suntrans Aviation Science and Technology Co., Ltd.
Think the John and Martha King arrest and detention cannot
happen to you? Think again. The Customs and Border Patrol Agency
has deemed you to be a national security threat and is watching you
every time you fly, simply because you are a pilot. The CBP
has established an "Air and Marine Operations Center' (much like
the Operations centers the military air services use) at the
former March AFB in Riverside CA and is spying on our citizens
lawfully going about their business. This Operations Center
has the capabilities to draw upon government databases and
determine if you are a threat before you even get near your
aircraft.
Aero-Heartbreakers: US Congress
The national legislative body was something of a mixed bag for
aviation this year. There were some successes, notably the
extension of the accelerated depreciation rules in the tax code
which was widely praised as a potential catalyst for new airplane
sales.
Aero-Hero: SpaceX
When discussing the year's biggest accomplishments, it would be
impossible not to put SpaceX at the top of the list. The company
this year proved that it does not require the government to safely
put an object into orbit, and return it safely to Earth, and may
well have given us a glimpse of the future of U.S. human
spaceflight.
Coolest Kitfox EVER Gets Serious Attention At Oshkosh

There's something about the Kitfox... an aircraft series that
was a true pioneer in the sport aviation arena for quite a number
of years... and through good times and bad. It was the aircraft
that brought thousands of pilots to aircraft ownership and inspired
many thousands more to pursue flight. As uniquely identified with
the early sport kit revolution as the Piper Cub was to early GA,
the Kitfox has not only weathered the last few decades fairly well,
but may yet see some of its finest days... in its future.

Side..."
As NTSB Prelims go, this one is a little on the unusual
side... and could have gone a lot worse than circumstances
permitted. However; a medical helo flight went awry when its pilot
suffered a scenario in which he suddenly lost the use of his right
arm. The Part 135 flight executed an emergency landing at Cherry
Point Marine Corps Air Station with a medical crewmember providing
control assistance under the instructions of the stricken
pilot.

configured Orions to the Fleet, outfitted with an upgraded acoustic

Aero-Linx: British Hang Gliding
and Paragliding Association
The British Hang Gliding & Paragliding Association oversees
pilot and instructor training standards, provides technical
support, such as airworthiness standards, runs coaching courses for
pilots, and supports a country-wide network of recreational clubs
and registered schools, providing the infrastructure within which
UK hang gliding and paragliding thrive.

crewmember providing control assistance under the instructions of
the stricken pilot. The helo sustained significant damage but all
three crew members emerged unscathed.
