With parts of Louisiana still recovering from the damage of Hurricane Gustav and National Guardsmen continuing to provide assistance, Governor Bobby Jindal has directed troops to relocate, stage and prepare for possible landfall of Hurricane Ike at a moment's notice.

As darkness fell over the nation's capital Wednesday night, about 200 volunteers busily posted nearly 3,000 full-sized American flags near the site of the Pentagon Memorial to be officially dedicated Thursday, the seventh anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Slips Over First Six Months Of 2008; June Traffic Plummets 2.7 Percent

The first of likely many reports of monthly drops in airline passenger traffic numbers was released Thursday. The number of scheduled domestic and international passengers on US airlines during the first six months of 2008 declined by 0.4 percent from the same period in 2007, dropping to 378.2 million, according to the US Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics.

Students Worldwide Will Help Track LCROSS Spacecraft

International Civil Aviation Organization Signs Deal

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), acting on behalf of the Government of Argentina and the Argentine Aeronautic Administration (AAA), has awarded to Viking Air Limited of Victoria, BC the heavy maintenance contract for complete overhaul and engine upgrade for one of eight DHC-6-200 Twin Otters operated by the AAA.

Woodard is now rebuilding his home... and has come under fire by his homeowners association, which has put him on notice for violations to the neighborhood code... including having the wrong shingles on the roof.
