Cessna Receives Two-Plane Order For Citation Columbus

Will Be Added To Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories' Fleet

Cessna tells ANN the planemaker recently secured its first multiple order for the new Model 850 Citation Columbus business jet. Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) of Pullman, WA will use two of the long-range, large-cabin Citations to support its global expansion and customer support efforts.

Whistleblowers Allege LCC Flew Planes Without Inspections

Moments ago, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced it has initiated action to collect a $10.2 million civil penalty from Southwest Airlines for operating 46 airplanes without performing mandatory inspections for fuselage fatigue cracking. Subsequently, the airline found that six of the 46 airplanes had fatigue cracks.

However, this would have left a plane load of west-bound passengers stranded in London Heathrow who were due to fly back to the US on the same aircraft. We sought alternative flights for the west-bound passengers but heavy loads out of London that day meant that this was not possible."
