PAIFA Reduces Costs Of Training For Vets

Pan Am International Flight Academy's (PAIFA) Career Pilot Development (CPD) division has restructured its training program to minimize out-of-pocket expenses for US military veterans. Active duty military personnel and veterans may be reimbursed for most of their flight training expenses through the Montgomery GI Bill (MGIB). The Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and Veterans Affairs have recently signed into law a new bill which gives Reservists who were activated after September 11, 2001 the same educational benefits. The Academy's program is approved for VA training. Training is conducted at the Academy's CPD campus in Phoenix, AZ.

In recognition of their service to our country, Pan Am is including a free Air Crew Education (ACE) Course, valued at $6,120, to all veterans who enroll into our full program; a prorated discount will be given for those who enroll with prior flight experience.

ACE is a turbine-transition, airline-preparation course based on the Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ). Completion of the ACE Course qualifies graduates for placement into PAIFA's partner airlines with flight times well below those set for the general public, thereby enabling them to maximize their career earnings by obtaining an airline pilot job much quicker.

"We have talked to numerous veterans who have been discharged, and many who are slated to get out within the next year, and we have found that there is significant interest in this program. Therefore, we believe this is an excellent opportunity for us to assist veterans with their post-military careers," said James DeLong, Vice President of the Academy's CPD division.

He continued, "This makes becoming an airline pilot even more affordable than before. After reimbursement from MGIB and the free ACE course, eligible veterans will receive nearly $37,000 in savings."
