SkyFusion Pak Approved For Installation In Canada

Canadian STC Received For Installation On 30 Cessna Models

In conjunction with STC approval from the FAA, the SkyFusion aerial imaging system has been approved by Transport Canada for installation on 30 Cessna aircraft models in Canada. This approval will allow operators in Canada to take advantage of the company’s aerial imaging solution for mission-critical and technically-demanding applications including border patrol, law enforcement, disaster response, and search and rescue. The STC approval applies to C206, C182, C172 and C152 aircraft models.

“Our customers, especially those in law enforcement and government agencies, are often working within tight budgets,” said Mark Zaller, director of product marketing. “A SkyFusion Pak system that has local approvals for installation can save aircraft owners and operators weeks of time and a lot of money.”

SkyIMD, the maker of the system, says it is small, lightweight, portable, and can be installed in one day. It includes a self-contained pod with an application-specific sensor and motorized control that is ready to be mounted on wing struts or belly. The system can be configured with optional components, such as Sony EO imagers and FLIR infrared sensors, to meet the needs of different applications. It also includes a flight control laptop computer that is customized and pre-configured with comprehensive management and control software.

The system will stream real-time video and images via satellite or a 3G/4G networks, and has automated analytics/reporting providing telemetry and geo-spatial data with 3D map overlays.

In addition to approval in Canada, the SkyFusion Pak system has received certification from the FAA, EASA, and agencies in Australia, Brazil and Mexico.
