Freebie Alert! New Voyager FreeFlight Offers Free Flight Planning Software

Seattle Avionics Software tells ANN that they are ready to release their new Voyager FreeFlight flight planning software. Voyager FreeFlight is a completely free yet powerful and easy-to-use flight planner based on the award-winning Voyager Flight Software System. Voyager FreeFlight works whether connected to the Internet or not; it shows flight over terrain; it automatically downloads current weather, NavData and TFRs; and it comes complete with more than 160 aircraft profiles.

New Voyager FreeFlight is a streamlined version of the Voyager Flight Software system that retains many of the powerful features of the full Voyager product and is faster and even easier to use. These features include both Victor and GPS Direct autorouting, a profile view that shows your flight over terrain, automatic background weather downloads, various weather overlays including NexRad radar and altitude-sensitive cloud tops (satellite images), full DUAT briefings, kneeboard printouts, electronic flight plan filing, and much more.

In addition, users can test-drive any feature of the full Voyager Flight Software System with a click of the mouse. Users even can instantly upgrade to the full Voyager Flight Software System without downloading or installing anything new so they lose no investment of time or learning as their needs grow. These additional features, called Modules, include the SmartPlates IFR Procedure Management module, the GlassView moving-map module, and SmartPlan advanced flight planning modules.

"Free is a great price and pilots have been putting up with a lot of limitations to get it. Now pilots can have their cake and eat it too - the free price without the limitations of Real-Time Flight Planner," said Steve Podradchik, CEO.

"We want to introduce the majority of pilots to what comprehensive flight planning can do while keeping things quick and simple. With FreeFlight, we think we've found a great combination of price, features, and ease of use that will appeal to every pilot."

The software can be downloaded from Seattle Avionics Web site right now.
