Adam Aircraft Names Duncan Koerbel As President

Former Lockheed, Bombardier Exec Succeeds Joe Walker

Adam Aircraft told ANN Monday it has appointed Duncan B. Koerbel as President.

Koerbel (right) has an extensive aerospace career. Representatives with the Englewood, CO-based planemaker state Koerbel has held senior positions in engineering, production, and program management at Raytheon Aircraft, Fairchild Dornier, Lockheed, and Bombardier. In his new role at Adam, Koerbel will be responsible for guiding the company as it continues to move forward on certification of the A700 AdamJet, as well as managing the A500 (shown below) production and delivery programs.

Joe Walker, who served as President from 2003, will continue on as a consultant. Koerbel will report to company Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Rick Adam through John Wolf, who has joined the Board of Directors as Lead Director and Board Liaison.

"This is great news for Adam Aircraft as we continue to make the transition from a development to a production company. Dunc adds extensive aircraft manufacturing experience to our team and will help accelerate our A700 certification and ramp up our manufacturing operation in moving the company forward," said Rick Adam.

Koerbel comes to Adam Aircraft from Bombardier Aerospace, where he led the Global Express aircraft program. As Vice President and General Manager -- Global Express & Global 5000 Business at Bombardier Aerospace in Montreal, Canada, Koerbel oversaw the Global Express XRS and Global 5000 business jet product line including engineering, aircraft production, and completions.

While at Lockheed Martin, Koerbel served as Vice President & General Manager, Aircraft Division where he was responsible for the aircraft heavy maintenance (MRO) business plus all facets of business development, operations, contracts and dealings with local and federal government customers and agencies.

As Fairchild Dornier's Vice President, New Airplane Program Office in Munich, Germany, Koerbel was in charge of the program office for the 728 and 928 airliner development programs.

Koerbel began his aviation career at Raytheon Aircraft serving in numerous capacities including leading the development and certification of the Premier I business aircraft, the first jet aircraft designed by the company and first "clean sheet design" in 15 years. He also ran the FAA Part 25 Beechjet 400A product line along with developing and certifying the FAA Part 23 Super King Air 350.

A graduate of Penn State with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Koerbel also holds a MBA from Wichita State University and is a commercial instrument rated pilot.
