Five months after announcing a partnership to develop online aerobatics training, Sporty's and Patty Wagstaff have introduced a second course, Basic Aerobatics. This detailed course is a great complement to in-airplane training and explores three essential aerobatic maneuvers in all their varieties: loops, rolls, and spins. "The flight instructors at Sporty's Academy and Patty Wagstaff Aviation Safety share the same goal: to make flying safer and more fun," said Wagstaff. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic in Florida, Skydive City Zephyrhills has advised the United States Parachute Association that the 2020 USPA Skydiving & Parachuting Nationals will not take place at Skydive City as planned beginning October 30, 2020. “We have agonized over whether to conduct the Nationals because we have been so excited about making this the best competition,” said DZOs Joannie Murphy and Susan Stark.

EAA and Wittman Regional Airport representatives met with FAA airport officials this week to discuss the establishment of turf operations at Wittman, something long desired by vintage/tailwheel aircraft owners at many airports across the country. This meeting took the form of a safety risk management panel, or SRM. NTSB Prelim: Vans Vans RV-8

Appeared As If It Was Having "Directional Control Issues" On The Runway

On July 24, 2020, about 1159 Pacific daylight time, a Vans RV-8, N138PM, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Tehachapi Airport (TSP), Tehachapi, California. The private pilot was fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 91 personal flight. A witness reported that he had just finished landing and he stopped to watch two airplanes coming in to land. The first airplane was the accident airplane, he observed it touch down onto the runway tailwheel first. The airplane then oscillated between its tailwheel and main landing gear a few times before it tipped up onto the left main gear.
