Boeing's new 737 MAX 7 has successfully completed its first flight. The airplane remains on schedule and now begins a comprehensive flight test program leading to certification and delivery in 2019. Saint Louis University's Parks College of Engineering, Aviation & Technology, St. Louis, Missouri, has placed an order for three Frasca reconfigurable Advanced Aviation Training Devices (AATDs). All three AATDs will include GTN-650 GPS, navigational database, ForeFlight iPad interface, Frasca's TruVision visual system with three channel visual display system, Frasca's Simplicity touch screen Instructor Operator Station (IOS) and will be FAA approved. Elbit Systems has received government approval to acquire Universal Avionics Systems Corporation. The parties have received the applicable government approvals and the closing is anticipated to occur in the coming weeks. Under the ownership of Elbit Systems, Universal Avionics will become a wholly-owned subsidiary.

GovSat-1 entered operational service Monday, to provide secure communications to governmental and institutional users. GovSat-1 is the first satellite of GovSat, a public private partnership between the Government of Luxembourg and the world-leading satellite operator SES. The satellite was launched into space on January 31 aboard a flight-proven SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, and has since undergone extensive testing.

NTSB Releases Preliminary Report From February 28 Accident In MD

Pilot Fatally Injured, Passenger Remains Missing

The NTSB has released a preliminary report from an accident involving a Cessna 172S that went down in the ocean off the coast of Maryland. The airplane was destroyed when it impacted the water, resulting in the fatal injury of the pilot. The passenger that was aboard the aircraft is still missing, and presumed to be dead as well.

Air Transport International Pilots Ratify New Three-Year Deal

Includes Significant Pay Raises And Scheduling Improvements

The pilots of Air Transport Int’l (ATI), represented by the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), have ratified a three-year collective bargaining agreement with significant pay raises and extensive scheduling improvements. Of the nearly 94 percent of ATI pilots who voted, 77 percent cast ballots in favor of the deal.
