Airborne 10.06.16: Blue Origin Test, Red Bull, Iran Rips Off Drone

Okay, we admit it, the whole crew at ANN are a bunch of space geeks. We watched the live video feed as Blue Origin tested the crew capsule escape system yesterday morning and cheered with the successful results of the test. The entire flight lasted about eight minutes. The launch was delayed by about 45 minutes as the Blue Origin team resolved some minor technical issues. The NTSB has released a preliminary report from a mid-air collision which occurred September 24, 2016, at 0923 EDT. According to the report, a Cessna 120, N3580V, and a Piper PA-28-140, N612FL, collided in midair while in cruise flight over North Collins, New York.
