A woman has been fatally injured in a base jumping accident near
Baring, WA, when her parachute failed to open.
The woman, who has not been identified, was jumping in Snohomish
County near the Snoqualmie National Forest. Seattle television
station Q13 reports that emergency crews were having a very
difficult time reaching the site where she landed. The area is
extremely hilly and densely wooded.
Base jumping involves jumping with a parachute from a high fixed
object such as a building or bridge.
