TL Ultralight Launches New Factory To Meet StingSport Global Demand

New Czech Republic Plant Expands Production Capacity

Representatives with the Czech Republic's TL Ultralight sro, and SportairUSA LLC of Little Rock, AR revealed Thursday completion of TL’s new 44,000 square foot factory in Hradec Kralóvé.

TL Ultralight builds the TL-2000 Sting -- better known to American audiences as TL Sport Aircraft and the StingSport, respectively -- and currently employs 70 people. The company plans to double that number over the next year.

While the existing factory successfully delivered over 400 aircraft, rising global sales and US Special Light Sport Aircraft (SLSA) certification of the StingSport triggered the need for a more scalable production facility.

"The factory completion caps a major financial and resource effort spanning nine months and establishes the base to nearly quadruple existing aircraft production over the next year," said TL Sport Aircraft owner Jirí Tlustý. "It also delivers capacity for new aircraft introduction."

Bill Canino of SportairUSA, North American distributor of the StingSport, praised TL’s vision "in both timely anticipation of worldwide demand and their commitment and speed in establishing a high tech carbon fiber composite center of excellence in Hradec Kralóvé."

"While production expands dramatically with the new factory, TL remains squarely focused on quality assurance" asserted Tlustý. "We’ve added resources to ensure that quality matches production enhancements stride for stride."

The StingSport will be featured this Saturday, February 18, at the EAA Sport Pilot Tour in Mesa, AZ, and again February 25 at the Northwest Aviation Conference and Trade Show in Puyallup, WA.
