Aero-News: Quote of the Day

ANN's Quote of the Day usually derives from current news, though we reserve the right to pick quotes out of history that have a bearing on the day's events and issues.

Sometimes, you'll find them timely and in keeping with the content of the day's news... and sometimes, they'll just be thought-provoking.

Reader suggestions and comments are welcome... and if particularly intriguing, timely, or poignant, may themselves become future Quotes of the Day.

Let us hear from you, folks!

Aero-News Quote of the Day

"The first quarter shows that we are sustaining the delivery rates of last year and are maintaining announced production schedules. Our industry is working hard to ensure that this momentum is maintained and that general aviation continues to shine as a bright spot of the manufacturing community."

Source: Pete Bunce, President and CEO of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association. GAMA reports shipments of general aviation airplanes for the first three months of this year totaled 842 units -- in line with last year's 847 airplanes -- while industry-wide billings were $4.5 billion, up an impressive 11.3 percent.
