Passenger Touching Up Makeup Causes Emergency Scramble

Woman Lit A Match In Airplane Lavatory To ... Warm Her Eyeliner

What price beauty? A woman who had fallen asleep on a commuter flight from Dulles to Binghamton, NY decided she needed to touch up her makeup before landing, so she ducked into the lavatory aboard United Express Flight 7835.

Apparently, (and as a guy I was not aware of this, ed.) if eyeliner is warmed before it is applied, it can soften the makeup and give it a deeper color, according to Associated Content at Yahoo. So, the unnamed woman in the lavatory lit a match ... passed the eyeliner pencil through flame ... blew it out, and touched up her makeup.

At least she didn't disable the smoke detector.

The crew, following procedure, notified authorities at Greater Binghamton Airport, and they instituted emergency protocols, according to a report in pressconnects.com.

The woman, who the Broome County, NY Sheriff's office decided not to name, admitted everything when she was detained and questioned by local authorities. They also decided not to press charges.
