Source: Philadelphia resident June DeLuca, who was in the terminal at Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport when an SUV came crashing through the glass wall, through the Southeast Airlines ticket counter and into a wall. The Miami Herald reports the Lincoln Navigator was driven by former Cuban Olympic athlete Alexis Vila. As to why Vila smashed into the terminal at a high rate of speed -- or why there's no protection against such acts of terror -- nobody yet knows. Vila has been sent to a psychiatric hospital for evaluation.
