Yellow Ribbon Honor Flight Returning To AirVenture

Mark Your Calendars For Online Registration Beginning June 1

EAA and Old Glory Honor Flight are pleased to announce the fourth annual Yellow Ribbon Honor Flight as part of EAA AirVenture 2016. This popular event will take place on Friday, July 29, departing early in the morning from Wittman Regional Airport and returning early that evening, following the afternoon air show.

Yellow Ribbon Honor Flight 4 is a special flight for Vietnam-era veterans to travel to Washington, D.C. to tour memorial sites such as the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and Arlington National Cemetery. The emotional return ceremony is always a popular part of the Friday AirVenture Salute to Veterans day, giving the crowd of thousands gathered in Boeing Centennial Plaza a chance to welcome these veterans home, an honor most of these servicemen did not receive upon their return from war.

Old Glory Honor Flight will be taking online registrations June 1-30, with veterans selected via a lottery process in early July. More information will be available at that time on the Old Glory Honor Flight website. Yellow Ribbon Honor Flight 4 is presented in cooperation with American Airlines.
