Bombardier Celebrates One-Year Anniversary Of Tianjin Service Center

Facility Completes First 120-Month Inspection On A Challenger Jet

Bombardier Business Aircraft celebrated the first anniversary of the state-of-the-art Tianjin Service Center, inaugurated in collaboration with its partner, the Tianjin Airport Economic Area (TAEA), in April last year. The facility is a testament to Bombardier’s dedication to growing business aviation in the Greater China region and to strengthening its long-term relationship with TAEA.

“Being close to customers and highly responsive is at the center of our strategy,” said Jean-Christophe Gallagher, vice president and General Manager, Customer Experience, Bombardier Business Aircraft. “This service center is an essential part of our strategy to support our growing market share in China and we have the facilities, dedication and infrastructure to meet our customers' needs, today and into the future.”

In addition to delivering the value-added experience that Bombardier provides throughout its worldwide network, the facility brings top maintenance services to Bombardier customers in China and ensures quicker access to support those customers closer to their base of operations. Recently, the Tianjin service center successfully completed heavy maintenance inspections including a 60-month inspection on a Global aircraft as well as a 120-month inspection on a Challenger aircraft. These inspections demonstrate Bombardier’s service center network leadership in providing heavy aircraft maintenance on Bombardier jets and in bringing our support and talent to our operators in the region. The 120-month inspection is one of the largest maintenance events in the aircraft’s lifecycle. Customers benefit from the service center’s comprehensive capabilities and flexibility, as well as the in-depth knowledge of its highly skilled technicians.

The service center is equipped to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, including avionics installations and aircraft on ground (AOG) support for Bombardier Challenger and Global aircraft. It has EASA-certified employees, and is equipped to support Bombardier Business Aircraft customers across the region for their warranty, repair and line service needs.

“Over the past year, Bombardier and the TAEA have offered the utmost support and tremendous efforts for the operation of our joint venture,” said Zhao Xuesen, vice president of TAEA and Chairman of Bombardier Tianjin Service Center. “Today, China's economy continues to grow steadily and the business jet market is facing good prospects for development. Tianjin is an important aviation base in China; it provides a good operating environment for Bombardier Tianjin Company and will further promote a faster and better development of Bombardier's business in China and Asia at large.”

Located near Beijing, the Tianjin Service Center includes hangar space, offices, as well as back shop areas totaling over 95,766 square feet.
