iPhone App Handy For Those Attending Balloon Fiesta As
Well
Balloon enthusiasts who want to get up-to-date information about
the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta have to travel no
further than their iPhones. A second Balloon Fiesta app for the
iPhone went live a couple of weeks ago, and serious ballooning
enthusiasts can get their balloon information on the go. This
BalloonFiesta app is the “Official Mobile Companion for the
2010 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta” for
providing information on how to get to Balloon Fiesta Park,
what cool things are happening on the field, or how to find
information on your favorite hot air balloon. There are more than
500 balloon pictures searchable by the 2010 Balloon Fiesta basket
banner number.

The BalloonFiesta app was written by Matthew Ferguson for every
person with an interest in the sport of ballooning. “The
Balloon Fiesta brings together people of all ages together from all
corners of the world to join in the fun, magic and joy of
ballooning," said Ferguson. "The BalloonFiesta app is a custom-
built, easy-to-use app that allows users on demand information
about “all things ballooning.”
The app, 99 cents in the iTunes store, contains everything a
Balloon Fiesta goer may need: the full schedule of events, weekend
parking maps, a concessionaire locator, parking and Park and Ride
information and basic facts and information on ballooning.
The highlight of this application is the emphasis on balloons.
Just like the event it showcases, the BalloonFiesta app, provides a
list of all the balloons participating in the 2010 “Earth,
Wind and Flyers” event. With the ability to search by balloon
name or banner number, you can easily seek out a full color picture
of the balloon and just by tapping on the picture, get the scoop on
the aircraft as well as the pilot. Information includes the number
of years at Balloon Fiesta, when the balloon was manufactured, and
even the launch square assigned to the balloon.
When navigating through the BalloonFiesta app, users will hear
the sound of the propane burner that powers the real hot air
balloons, giving even those that are not at Balloon Fiesta another
sense of actually being on the field. Other features built directly
into the BalloonFiesta app, include official notifications about
the day’s events, and the ability to purchase tickets and
other merchandise directly from the app. You can even follow the
happenings of Balloon Fiesta on Facebook and Twitter by using the
links contained in the app.
