James Webb Space Telescope To Be Tested In The Vacuum Chamber Used During The Apollo Program
NASA's "Chamber A" thermal vacuum testing chamber famous for being used during Apollo missions has now been upgraded and remodeled to accommodate testing the James Webb Space Telescope. When the next-generation space telescope was being designed, engineers had to ensure there was a place large enough to test it, considering it's as big as a tennis court. That honor has been bestowed on the famous "Chamber A" in the thermal-vacuum test facility at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX.

Witnesses Saw Gull-Wing Doors On The Aircraft Open During Flight
The NTSB has released a factual report from an accident involving a Lee SQ-2000 experimental airplane that occurred August 28th last year in Pierre, SD. The owner/pilot of the kitplane had recently installed a new engine in the aircraft, and was conducting a test flight and had noted in his records that the doors of the airplane were easy to open during flight.
Replacement Of Some 1,440 Engines Planned In Upgrade Program
Some decades-old KC-135 Stratotankers are drinking from the fountain of youth -- or at least the engines are. Airmen installed the first of 1,440 upgraded Stratotanker engines at MacDill Air Force Base, Fl, Jan. 15. The 1970s engine parts will be replaced with modern engines that burn less fuel and run longer without repairs, officials said.
Research Indicates The Underlying Event May Have Occurred Far As 12,000 Light Years From Earth
A nearby short duration gamma-ray burst may be the cause of an intense blast of high-energy radiation that hit the Earth in the 8th century, according to new research led by astronomers Valeri Hambaryan and Ralph Neuhauser. The two scientists, based at the Astrophysics Institute of the University of Jena in Germany, publish their results in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

Aero Linx: The International Coordinating Council of Aerospace Industries Associations
The International Coordinating Council of Aerospace Industries Associations (ICCAIA) is the international organisation of aerospace industry associations. Its members are engaged in the design, development, manufacture and in-service support of aeronautical and space products and technologies, including related ground-based systems. ICCAIA was established in 1972 to provide the civil aircraft industry a means to be represented with observer status in the deliberations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
"In 2012, the Q400 NextGen aircraft order book grew significantly with orders from first-time customers - WestJet and Eurolot - as well as from repeat customers looking to enhance their fleets with the only turboprop that accommodates more passengers and route possibilities. The Q400 aircraft spread further into secondary markets and, together with the Q400 NextGen aircraft, brought new customers, operators and leasing companies from almost every continent into the Bombardier turboprop family. This demonstrates the flexibility and performance capability of the aircraft.
