This week, Alaska Airlines became the latest carrier to announce
plans to add inflight wireless internet access onboard its planes.

joined members of a group calling itself The National Air Disaster
Alliance/Foundation Tuesday in announcing a federal lawsuit has
been filed against DOT and FAA officials, alleging that a series of
"deja vu disasters" have resulted from FAA inaction on the NTSB's
annual list of "Most Wanted Transportation Safety
Improvements."
Art Nalls is an amazing guy -- one who has given the FAA some
interesting tasks... such as administering a checkride last October
-- to fly the Harrier! Art says that, "The examiner required me to
demonstrate the various takeoffs and landing for VSTOL aircraft, as
he was totally unfamiliar with the Harrier, so we discussed the
various takeoffs and landings and the appropriate use for each. The
examiner was pleased with my flying and granted me the
type-rating."
On Thursday, aerospace executive Phil Friedman announced his
plans to bid for the assets of the defunct Eclipse Aviation, under
the auspices of his company New Eclipse Acquisition LLC.

Piper Aircraft announced Thursday it will offer the AmSafe
Aviation Airbag System as optional equipment on all its new PA-46
aircraft (Matrix, Malibu and Meridian) models, and for aftermarket
installation on all other current Piper planes. AmSafe will work in
concert with Piper and its dealer/service network to distribute the
airbag system.
