An 1979 model IAI-1124 Westwind jet registered to MedJets crashed into an airport hangar at Tocumen International Airport at Panama City airport in Panama during takeoff Friday and burst into flames, killing seven people.

Five P-3 Orion air tankers that had recently been grounded have passed FAA inspections and will return to flight status on Monday. The five aircraft are owned by Aero Union Corp. and were among the total of 33 aircraft that were grounded in May due to airworthiness concerns. 

The families of six Russians who perished as a result of a mid-air collision over Germany have decided to sue Honeywell and other aviation equipment manufacturers in the US, blaming the TCAS systems on both aircraft for the crash that killed 71 people in 2002.

On June 29th the Twister kit plane serial no. 5, was awarded its Airworthiness Certification. The next day, June 30, 2004 and three months after getting the go ahead for building to begin, Mike Friend, kit owner, took the Twister on its first flight.

On June 29 the V-22 Integrated Test Team completed Phase IV of the Osprey's shipboard suitability testing, the fifth of six at-sea periods the tiltrotor will go through during the aircraft's developmental testing.
