EBACE Sources SAF For 3rd Year Running

35 Percent Sustainable Blend Shows Just How Quickly the Industry Embraces Tech

Sustainable aviation fuel has been procured for the upcoming European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2024) in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Sustainable Aviation Fuel sourced for EBACE comes from Jet Aviation, offering a 35% SAF blend for the third year running. It's not the highest titration they have around, but that's 35% less virgin petroleum per gallon, and it can add up quickly. It's notable to some extent that the ratio is even higher than some manufacturers have bragged about testing in recent years, showing just how far the fuel has come in the eyes of operators and managers.

The addition of SAF is always a nice little way to 'do something' whenever throngs of private jet operators congregate for some exhibition or summit, and organizers aren't going to lose out on the ability to gain some much-needed notoriety for the new-age sustainable fuel. SAF is integral to the industry's greater carbon goals, hoping to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 or sooner - which, if all goes well, will hopefully preclude the installation or addition of onerous regulations.

"We are delighted to bring SAF to EBACE again this year," said Joao Martins, Jet Aviation's vice president of FBO operations in Europe and GM Zurich. "SAF is an important part of our efforts towards a more sustainable future, for the industry, and for Jet Aviation. We were proud to be the first company to bring SAF to Switzerland, in 2020, and since then we have continued to work in partnership to increase availability in the region, and globally. Jet Aviation also makes SAF available for any customer worldwide through our Book & Claim program."

Said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen: "Business aviation is increasing efficiency and reducing carbon emissions on the ground and in the air. SAF remains a cornerstone of our plan for achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. We thank Jet Aviation for stepping forward to make SAF and its benefits available to those joining us at what will be an exciting EBACE."

"Our industry is dedicated to sustainability and SAF is a critical part of achieving our environmental goals," said EBAA Secretary General Holger Krahmer. "We need to continue to increase the availability, production and use of SAF, and we applaud Jet Aviation for playing such an important role in expanding sustainable fuel supplies around the world."
