Koppert Breaks Down the Application Process in Quest for Perfection
Embraer's agricultural aircraft has started testing Koppert's new sprayer systems in Brazil, continuing the firm's efforts to refine their long-running workhorse for the next generation.
Koppert should be a good partner for the operation, given their experience in the haughtily named world of 'bio-control agents'. Working with Embraer, Koppert wants to develop a regiment that will assess the overall efficacy of sprays, creating a methodology to evalueate a whole host of aspects surrounding sprayer design and utilization. In everything from quantity of agent-on-target to the effective spread and efficiency of a drop, Koppert is breaking down the process piece by piece to figure out the very best way to spray a field.
Embraer's Ipanema isn't a random choice, either, since the hardy little thing has been one of the only approved, ethanol-burning aircraft in the space. Using nothing but biofuel, Ipanema operators can make use of some of the very same crops they spray to keep them aloft, cutting emissions and bolstering their home country's self-reliance. Interestingly, Embraer says that the Ipanema's testing will be a first for Brazil, marking the first time a test methodology for aerial applications have been created for a domestic aircraft program.
"The partnership between Embraer and Koppert represents a significant step towards promoting sustainability in Brazilian agribusiness," says Gustavo Herrmann, Commercial Director of Koppert South America. "We are excited about the opportunity to contribute to the development of more sustainable and efficient agricultural practices."
"The agribusiness industry has been striving to incorporate new technologies to enhance food security and environmental protection, and we believe that the collaboration between Embraer and Koppert could contribute to new sustainable advances in the sector," said Sany Onofre, head of Embraer's Ipanema Program.
