Bye-Bye, Bye... George Bye Out As CEO of Bye Aerospace

Zastrow Has Been Placed as The New CEO

Bye Aerospace, currently undertaking a slow path to the development of a number of electric aircraft... has replaced founding CEO George Bye with Rod Zastrow. Familiar with the territory, Zastrow had been serving as President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Bye, before taking the top seat. Bye reportedly remains Chairman and now fills in as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). The reasons for these changes in leadership have not been disclosed.

Zastrow reports that the company will continue to pursue 'the final stages' of FAA certification and commence production of the eFlyer 2 -- which they say may ultimately be the first FAA Part 23 certified electric airplane -- but they're going to have to pick up the pace to make that happen as this has become an area of much development and activity. As the former Chair and CEO of Spartan Global Aviation Training, Zastrow brings experience in pilot training, aircraft maintenance, logistics, and global business development.

George Bye supposedly will now focus on driving various tech initiatives and product integration strategies while 'spearheading' the company's R&D efforts. We'll see if that actually takes place -- as the company has been slow to respond to questions about progress with their program... if they respond at all... and they have heretofore refused to discuss some of the parameters of the program(s) they are undertaking.

Bye Aerospace is headquartered in Denver, Colorado.
